Welcome

The exterior of the accommodation

Situated by the side of Loch Duich, Mullardoch Cottages offer a tranquil retreat in the Scottish Highlands with stunning views over the lochs and the mountains of Kintail. The three comfortable single-story cottages sleep 2 to 4 people and are ideally located for touring north-west Scotland and visiting the nearby Isle of Skye, making this the perfect location for walkers and mountain climbers.

We also offer free 1 hour boat trip for all our cottage guests if they wish. The boat can be hired for extended trips for sightseeing or fishing as well.

Each cottage is furnished and equipped and has its own garden visited by a resident pine marten. These unfenced natural gardens are complete with patio and furniture and a path leading to the shore (but toddlers please beware!). A private jetty is available for launching visitors' boats, and good sea fishing can be enjoyed from nearby rocks.

The cottages are equipped with all necessary mod-cons including:

•  free Wi-Fi internet access
•  radio/cassette/CD
•  washing machine/tumble dryer
•  power showers in all cottages
•  microwave
•  dishwasher
•  freezer.
•  mobile phone reception

The wildlife hide with sea views

One unusual feature is that each cottage also has its own wildlife hide with views over Loch Duich and the Five Sisters of Kintail. If you are lucky you may spot an otter catching fish or a passing school of dolphins. For families with young children we can also supply a cot and a high chair by arrangement. All linen and duvets are provided and we can supply towels if required. We are sorry but we cannot take pets. The cottage is modern, easily maintained and heated throughout which is a must for your well earned holiday!

A double bedroom

The village of Inverinate lies along the coastline of Loch Duich about 4 miles east of the village of Dornie with its iconic Eilean Donan Castle, probably one of the most photographed castles in Scotland. The Isle of Skye lies 12 miles to the west and can be reached via the now toll-free Skye bridge. Nearby is the pretty fishing village of Plockton, which has featured in a number of films and television shows. Plockton is also well known for its restaurants, hotels and art galleries. Other activities include walks and climbs on the mountains of Kintail, including the magnificent Five Sisters or the Forcan ridge. We offer boat trips from the cottages for sightseeing and fishing. For meals there are several good restuarants, pubs and hotels not too far away, some offering live traditional music. Taxis and car hire are also available locally.

Lachie and Etta look forward to welcoming you to this special part of the Scottish Highlands with its stunning mountains and wild sea lochs.
